Interview with Jeff Lynn, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Seedrs, by Lawrence Wintermeyer for Forbes

Seedrs, the UK-based equity crowdfunding platform, had an outstanding year in 2017 with $175 million invested into campaigns. In total the platform funded 168 deals, across 8 countries, in 17 different sectors, by investors from 58 countries, who made over 46,700 investments.

Exits can be the bane of the serious venture investor so in June they launched the pioneering Seedrs Secondary Market and by the end of the year there had been nearly 700 investor exits with shares traded from 147 businesses.

If that wasn’t enough to hit the cover of the ball which was on its way out of the park, they successfully closed a $12 million funding round led by legendary UK investor Neil Woodford with 1,900 of their platform customers – a pretty hefty syndication between a pro lead and us regular folks!

Deservedly, Seedrs was named "The Most Active UK Funder in Private Companies" by Beauhurst, the UK's leading platform for research on startups and fast-growing companies.
