Dyson is (almost) definitely developing an electric car

Dyson just threw another Aston Martin executive into the melting pot.

In the car world, it doesn’t get much classier than Aston Martin – the luxury British manufacturer that’s now more than 100 years old.

Now though, an executive has left a top job with the company to join Dyson – fuelling rumours that the vacuum company is building its first car.

David Wyer has moved from director of purchasing at Aston Martin after 22 years, to become Dyson’s head of procurement.

He’s not the only auto-savvy executive Dyson has snapped (or should we say ‘sucked’) up lately.

Ian Minards had worked at Aston Martin for over 20 years before jumping ship to become Global Product Development Director at Dyson last year, and Tesla’s communications chief Ricardo Reyes also joined earlier this year.
