Intro:

Mulalo is a free mobile app that uses personal insights and machine learning algorithms to curate unique financial advice and retail offers. We are based 5 mins walk away from Slough train station and are looking for a talented software engineer to join us on this journey.

The financial industry in the UK is going through a period of dramatic change. Open banking (PSD II) will allow startups like Mulalo to own touch points which were previously unobtainable. Mulalo is focused on helping people save and manage their money better by providing expertly curated advice and suggestions.

The role:

On a day-to-day basis you will:

- Develop the core product using Java, Spring Boot, JPA hibernate.

- Shaping the tech stack and guiding future technical directions. You’ll have the opportunity to innovate.

- Manage a small team (front and back end devs) and be responsible for product roadmap delivery.

- Develop machine learning capabilities for categorising transactions and behaviours. We accumulate a substantial amount of data and need to enhance our understanding of these behaviours.

- Work with the front end engineers to develop the consumer facing elements via iteration based on consumer feedback and user metrics.

The ideal candidate:

- Be passionate about technology and have experience building mobile and web products.

- Will be energetic, highly motivated and a great communicator. We also rate integrity as a core principle.

- Care deeply about building reliable and well-tested systems whilst striving to build products used by millions of people.

- Will want to work in an early stage start-up environment. This requires flexibility and willingness to do whatever it takes to complete the job.

- Has experience working with MySQL and Oracle databases.

- Has experience working within the AWS environment.
