The Social Element is a multi award-winning social media agency with huge client brands. Our 24/7 technical team is responsible for supporting most of the corporate SaaS systems we use to enable us to move fast, grow quickly and be incredibly productive.

Our portfolio includes scheduling, CRM, finance & accounting, marketing, social media tools and more. While we use the best third-party tools on the market, such as Google and Salesforce, we also have an inclination to build our own apps when we know we can do it better.

We are looking for a talented IT Manager to manage the day-to-day IT functions of a busy agency and lead a small 24/7 support and development team. This will involve a hybrid of technical and people management with an emphasis on people and process. The teams are made up of Tech Leads and support agents at all experience levels. We see this role as being 60% people management and 40% hands on.

Working with a global remote workforce of over 300 people, our London head office and maintaining all aspects cloud, server and network solutions, this is a varied, fast-paced and fun role offering fantastic training and progression opportunities.

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

* Significant previous experience of working in a similar agency environment

* Experience of leading a small IT support team (mentoring, coaching etc)

* You will be happy working in a small team and getting your "hands dirty".

* Technical aptitude and familiarity with cloud-based technologies and related concepts

*A good coverage of as many of the below as possible would be great…

-Business G Suite/G Suite installations

-Solid understanding of Proxy and VPN, DNS management

-37Signals, Salesforce, Sophos Enterprise Console

-SQL, mySQL, social media tools

-Amazon AWS, Google Cloud

-Windows Server 2012+ administration, SQL Server 2012+ ---- administration, Linux administration


*Hands-on experience in scoping, planning and executing audits and projects.

*In-depth knowledge and experience with standard internal IT controls such as access, change and operations management

*Bonus - CISA, CPA, CIA or equivalent professional qualification

*Bonus - ISO 27001 and ITIL knowledge

*Bonus - PHP (Laravel framework), JavaScript (VueJS, jQuery, Angular and React as a plus)

What you'll be doing:

Everything! Well not quite, but this is a varied and challenging role. You can expect to be leading a small tech support team, pitching in with technical fixes, reviewing and implementing IT policies and security controls, leading upgrades/implementations, speaking to clients about IT security, designing new solutions, maintaining servers and working with the support team to improve and roll out new systems.

You’ll provide technical support directly to the London office, liaise closely with suppliers, evaluate and select a new fit for purpose tech and help to deliver top class support internally and ensure the delivery of efficient IT systems and services to a home-based workforce.
