Details

The Director of Ventures heads all the hub’s growth acceleration programmes and commercialization of its R&D projects. They report to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Director of R&D and the hub’s COO.

UKLTH UK Objectives to Role and Responsibilities.

• Commercial and ecosystem partnerships: build and maintain connections with industry, media and regulators that bring tangible value and insights to our startups;

• Network partnerships: maintain and help our startups – whether current or alumni – exploit the hub’s network of entrepreneurs and investors, mentors and experts, media and industry partners;

• Corporate Innovation partnerships: build and maintain the hub’s relationships with industry partners to help them grow their business, engage entrepreneurs and (re)build their brand awareness;

• Growth advisory to startups and scale-ups: mentor and accompany our founders to help them develop the right mindset to build global products and businesses

• Programme management: Work with our Programme Manager(s) to ensure that our operations and resource deployment deliver the best transformative experiences possible to our startups;

Programme Growth:

Help the Tech Hub leadership spot and seize opportunities to run acceleration programmes with new partners and in new emerging markets

• Lead the design, development and implementation of The Nucleus and the scale-up programme and services to:

o Help high impact Lebanese and Arab tech entrepreneurs scale their businesses into London as a jumping board to the EU and the US;

o Help UK-based tech startups scale into and do business in the MENA markets through our network of offices in London, Beirut and Dubai.

• Oversee UKLTH’s London incubator that hosts the UKLTH UK team, our UK-based startups, and entrepreneurs visiting from our other geographies;

• Oversee all operations relating to UKLTH’s programmes and services in the UK and the EU;

• Devise, in tandem with the CEO, an appropriate revenue-generation plan for UKLTH UK including UK-based programmes mirroring those run by UKLTH internationally.

• Manage UKLTH UK’s human resources including recruitment of new staff, payroll, existing staff affairs, and turnover. Oversee the administration of the office of UKLTH UK, including oversight on all legal and representation matters in the UK and the EU.

• Build and maintain a network of international partners (in Europe, MENA and the US) that can offer learning or market access opportunities to our companies.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of professional experience within the corporate innovation or startup ecosystem space (accelerators, incubators, VC firms, etc.)

• 5 years of prior, direct experience with technology accelerator programs preferably in the UK and the EU

• Strong program and project management experience – always ensure that deadlines are met, team members remain focused on the most high-value activities, and processes, operations, and logistics run smoothly

• Demonstrated ability to understand and make sense of the cultural, social and economic nuances that drive entrepreneurship in different societies, especially in MENA.

• Cultivate, build, and maintain strong working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives

• "Can do" attitude with a proven ability to work as part of a collaborative team

• Ability to consistently produce exceptional results with limited resources

• A deep passion for startups, entrepreneurship, and investing

• Develop relationships with top startup companies

• Strong leadership and project management skills
