About the Business:

Higgler is an exciting new FinTech offering a personalised digital wallet and marketplace for lifelong learning. Our vision is to revolutionise access to learning, whilst combating the digital skills gap as the global economy shifts further into a data / digital economy. In the UK alone this is set to cost UK GDP £172bn within the next 10 years.

Higgler is a data-driven business, which will be utilising machine learning and automation to scale the whole operation of the business. Higgler is combining educational datasets and financial data sets to build a forward-looking and predictive credit decision engine.

You would be joining a passionate founder with experience and history in this space, who is seeking a partner to build this business from the ground up.

About this Role:

In the position of CTO you will be responsible for the whole technology stack. Your responsibilities will include the following:

1. Platform selections

2. Technical design

3. Integration build

4. Provide options to technological problems

5. Build team of developers

6. Seeing the bigger picture and commercial in nature

Higgler will be integrating via e-shopping carts with its educational partners, whilst also integrating with a range of third-party platforms including credit bureaus, banking institutions, CRM’s etc. To be successful you will be passionate about technology and have track record in previous similar role.

Skills and Experience

• Excellent communicator with the ability to lead a development team, whilst able to articulate complex tech problems/solutions in an easy to follow the format for non-tech employees

• Background in machine learning

• Up-to-date on modern coding and developments practices. Has worked in a range of different codes and languages

• Has a proven track record of successfully building platforms over the last couple of years and utilising modern APIs

• History and experience working within the start-up space

• Computer Science degree preferable
