News UK is home to some of the most popular and respected news and media brands, creating and distributing content that educates, entertains, informs and inspires their readers.

The News UK Startup Lab has been created to engage with cutting-edge businesses who can add value to their readers, as well as those disrupting the world of media and publishing.

The Lab is currently recruiting for its second cycle starting in April, this time focussing on personal finance.

"We know that making financial decisions is one of the biggest areas of concern for our readers, especially the ‘intergenerational influencers’ who need to make decisions not only for themselves and their children but their parents too. We want to do more to help." Chris Duncan, Managing Director of The Times and Sunday Times.

"The Lab is designed to help startups validate their business model using the expertise and resources available within the organization. The opportunity to test ideas with News UK’s customer base of over 12m every day is what really sets this experience apart. We use lean methodologies to help startup founders generate the evidence they need to prove their business has the potential for success. Whether that’s proving customer desirability, product feasibility or financial viability. We help them experiment quickly and cheaply before they risk precious time and money building something at scale." - Fluxx product designer, Jenn Torry.

News UK is interested in speaking to businesses who can demonstrate new, disruptive ways of solving real-life problems and have evidence of traction with customers. Additional services outside of the lab are also available, including light-touch support and fast-track investment opportunities.
