GatsbyJS Workshop - Develop and deploy your own blog

The GatsbyJS framework is making waves in the JavaScript community. It's being noticed for its ease-of-use in creating blazing fast websites, both static and dynamic. Sites created using GatsbyJS are accessible, performant and SEO friendly. This full-day workshop will have you creating and deploying your own blog, using GatsbyJS, for the world to see.

If you're new to the world of web development and want to boost your online presence or if you're an experienced programmer wanting to gain experience with the latest in Front-End tooling then this workshop's for you

I've teamed up with a number of the core Gatsby team to bring you this one-day workshop. By the end of the 8-hours you will have covered everything from kickstarting your own Gatsby application all the way to having it hosted on the internet.

Installing and using Gatsby plugins

Schedule (Afternoon)

Introduction to Markdown

Compiling your website and running it locally

Putting everything you've learned to use in a final challenge.

Prerequisites and Requirements

BYOD (Bring your own device), I will not be supplying laptops.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Download the associated repo before hand, details on how to do this will be made available after ticket purchase.

While this workshop will act as an introduction to Gatsby and some associated tooling, participants are expected to have an understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

As well as being a day devoted to creating your very own blog, it will also be an opportunity to meet and socialise with like-minded developers.

There will be pizza and refreshments available to all attending participants.

There are very limited spaces for the workshop. If tickets are sold out, you can add yourself to the waiting list and be notified if spaces become available or if additional dates are added.
